The International Literacy Day is celebrated on September 8 every year throughout the world.

On this day, in the year 1965 the World Congress of Ministers of Education met in Tehran for the first time to discuss the programme of education at the international level.


The UNESCO 14th in its session in 26th October 1966 declared on 8 September as The international letracy day.


The international letracy mission authority started at 1988 celebrating international letracy day of every year.

Why celebrate letracy day?
International Literacy Day. 8 September was declared international literacy day by UNESCO on 26 October 1966 at 14th session of UNESCO's General conference. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.

The ultimate goal of literacy instruction is to build a student's comprehension, writing skills, and overall skills in communication. Ask yourself, how do I mostly convey the information and knowledge to my students.
